I think that’s the key–being willing and able to make changes when necessary.

Thanks Holly! I really appreciate your encouragement. That’s quite amazing that you were able to step into the teacher role for your grandchild(ren). I’m sure your son/daughter appreciate it a lot.

Yes! That definitely the kind of attitude that’s necessary these days!

That’s interesting Charlene. I’m sure there are a whole love of different levels of engagement. My youngest tested as gifted in the spring and her school had an extra class with projects she could do during remote learning, and sometimes she was engaged with it, and other times forgot about it completely. I’d be interested to know about your now homeschoolers too. Maybe we are far from unique?

Thanks Amanda! Yes, that’s very true–we are definitely learning a much as the kids!

Transitioning to homeschooling is definitely a challenge. I appreciate you transparency about what lessons you have learned. Sometimes I think we parents are learning just as much as the kids!

It’s interesting to see the different levels of engagement when they work from home. Your post makes me curious about my kiddos who opted to homeschool completely this year. We had a few pull out of the district.
